Even if you got stuck with a merchant Python, you'd shake it off soon enough while remaining vigilant for pirate arrivals throughout. Travelling speed is too slow, much slower than the 8-bit versions ever were. That may be what they say on their site, but I don't buy it and I don't think they've taken on board what is obviously a constant critical feedback. Skipping the corridor does mean you miss a lot of stuff if you do it for the whole journey however once you arrive you can just go forward for a bit to see if theres anything in the vacinity. Makes perfect title to while away some hours while bored at work. There is something similar online called Eve ya know I'd die a happy man knowing it happened during my life time Just to think, that's all Braben needs to do to make it 'online' nothing fancy, just Elite with Internet play. Good way to knock about 2 thirds off travel time.īare in mind that its a pretty accurate remake of the BBC Elite. Then simply look back at the planet and fly the rest of the way. Leave it there for a shortwhile to fly out of the corridor. When you arrive, point your ship at the planet, hit J then point your craft up until the green blob on the compass (the planet) drops right to the bottom. The ships prevent you from using your quick drive and theres a very easy way to prevent this happening. this is the main trading route of all ships etc. Whenever you arrive in a galaxy you do so in a sort of space corridor.
